The Effects of Topical 5-Fluorouracil on Several Skin Disease

Abstract
|

|
Local chemotherapy with 5-flourouracil was investigated in herpes zoster (12), herpes simplex (6),verruca plana juvenilis (7), verruca vulgaris (6), and condyloma acuminata (5).
Herpes zoster and herpes simplex, were reduced the duration of the lesions in all patients and in herpes zoster the pain was reduced, but additional study is needed. Verrucae were partially effective. Resolution of condyloma acuminata were occurred in all patients.
Local side effects were pigmentation on herpes simplex and verruca plana juveniles, and irritation,
erosion and oozing on condyloma acuminata. Systemic toxicity did not occur.
